While there are many things we do to mitigate the risk of shipping fresh food around the country, there are unfortunately some things outside of our control like the weather and transit delays once the package is in the hands of FedEx. As such, the shipping guidelines published on this website are not guarantees of a shipping or arrival date.
George Stone Crab is unable to guarantee the time of delivery, as this is all subject to the local carrier. Most carriers will deliver packages anytime between 8 am-8 pm. If you are placing an order for a time-sensitive event, we recommend placing your order early and scheduling it to arrive 2+ days before your event. A majority of our products can be refrigerated upon arrival to preserve freshness.
In anticipation of high package volumes (especially during holidays) or other uncontrollable events, we may have your order ship early to ensure that it arrives in good condition.
George Stone Crab reserves the right to schedule the arrival of your order earlier than estimated to prevent delays, based on operational conditions.
George Stone Crab is not responsible for delays in transit caused by high package volume, weather, mechanical error, strikes, natural disasters, terrorism safety control, local carrier mis-scans or inaccurate/incomplete shipping information, and we do not require a signature for the release of any shipment. Leaving a package at an address is ultimately up to the complete discretion of the individual delivery person and is therefore entirely outside our control.
George Stone Crab does not require a signature for the delivery of most of its packages.
Customers are responsible for checking that all shipping information is correct before submitting an order as well as in their order confirmation email. If you need to modify the delivery address once your order has shipped, a request will need to be submitted 3 days prior to the scheduled delivery date. George Stone Crab is not responsible for delays in transit caused by address modification.
There are no returns, refunds or cancellations allowed on any orders that have shipped.
All packages are shipped via FedEx Priority Overnight and therefore we cannot ship to P.O. Box addresses.
Our cut-off for both local delivery and next day delivery is 2 p.m. EST.

When are your shipping days?
Our shipping days are Mondays through Friday. We do not ship on Saturdays or Sundays. We also do not ship outside Miami-Dade county on holidays recognized by FedEx (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day).
2021 Blackout Shipping Days:
- Sunday, July 4th
- Monday, September 6, Label Day
- Wednesday and Thursday, November 25th-26th, Thanksgiving
- Friday and Saturday, December 24th-25th, Christmas Eve and Christmas
- Friday and Saturday, December 31st-January 1st, New Year’s Eve and Day.
How do you ship your products?
All of products are shipped in a corrugated box using insulated walls and Gel Packs. Gel packs have the added benefit over ice that they do not cross-contaminate foods as ice can do when it turns liquid and mixes with the foods. Gel packs are often made of non-toxic materials that will not liquefy, and therefore will not spill or contaminate if the container breaks. Gel packs may be made from hydroxyethyl cellulose (Cellusize™) or vinyl-coated silica gel.
When shipping Key Lime Pie, we package utilizing a corrugated box with insulated walls and gel packs.
Upon receipt of your package, remove all food products from the box.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation is required 3 calendar days prior delivery date to receive a full refund. Email support@GeorgeStoneCrab.com for assistance. Example: If you order for Thursday delivery, you will need to cancel your order by Monday 12 p.m. EST. Any cancellation requests after the 3 day window, will not qualify for a refund.
Do you offer insurance coverage on order shipments?
We understand delays happen, through Insurify you're covered for any delays, stolen, or lost packages. Please keep in mind, to receive shipping protection, you must opt-in for Insurify Coverage. George Stone Crab is not responsible for incorrect address or incorrect delivery date submissions. If there is an issue with your address or delivery date, please contact us 3 days before shipment is set to be received. George Stone Crab is also not liable for your package if you do not select shipping coverage.

It is understood and agreed that the following timelines for claims transmittal must be adhered to in order for a claim to be processed:
Claims for packages presumed to be lost by the carrier, where the status is “not delivered” must be filed no sooner than 7 days after the scheduled delivery date but not later than 30 days from the date the shipment was originally scheduled to be delivered.
All other claims for damage, delayed, or stolen should be filed as soon as discovered, within 48 hours of delivery.
Claims for packages marked by the carrier as “delivered” yet not received by the customer must be filed within 5 days from the date and time shown by the carrier as delivered.We require proof of either a copy of a police report showing report of theft or security video recording showing evidence of theft.
